FoodLink 6.0 will completely replace Version 2.2 beginning with orders placed for shipment on or after August 3.

FoodLink 6.0 offers these benefits:

  • FoodLink member IDs print on the warehouse pick label and the truck invoice – makes distribution of your order much quicker! (effective in August)

  • FoodLink 6.0 is compatible with an online order form which members can use to enter their own orders and email them to their FoodLink coordinator.  Members do not need to have FoodLink 6.0 installed on their own computer (ready for use after August 1)

  • A more user-friendly look and feel

  • Accurate accounting features

  • Easier sending of orders for AOL, SBC and other users who have trouble emailing orders

  • Easier sharing of the FoodLink job between 2 or more members

Here's how to get started with FoodLink 6.0

1. Open the FoodLink Manual:

Print out the manual and review it while downloading FoodLink 6 (step 3). Read the brief “Glossary” and “FoodLink Conventions” sections before you start, and use the manual to guide you through the set up process.

2. Rename the FoodLink 2.2 icon on your desktop.

Before installing FoodLink 6.0, right click the FoodLink 2.2 icon and rename it “OLDFL” (otherwise it will disappear when FoodLink 6.0 is installed).

3. Click the link below to download FoodLink 6.0

ftp://ftp3.unfi.com/from-unfi/une/flnk60.exe

If you are prompted to open or save the file, choose "Save" and save to your Desktop.  When the file has finished downloading an icon called "flnk60.exe" will appear on your desktop.

4. Contact us for Distributor FTP and Tax Code settings.

Email bctech@unfi.com or call 800-451-4520, ext 2345.  Include your customer name, customer number and the warehouse location from which you receive deliveries in your request.

5. Install FoodLink 6.0

Double click the flnk60.exe icon and follow the steps to install FoodLink 6.0.

Note: You may install FoodLink 6.0 without uninstalling FoodLink 2.2. They will both install under C:\foodlink\ and should co-exist without problem. FoodLink 6's icon is a large blue and green FL.

6. Set up your membership in FoodLink

Back ups made in 2.2 will not import into version 6, so you will need to set up your member records in version 6. You can have the old version open for reference while you set up your membership in the new version.

We suggest that you use the first 5 letters of your members’ last names as the member ID. This will be useful when member IDs print on the warehouse labels (beginning in August).

7. Set up your system:

See Set Up Menu instructions in the manual.

8. Set up your distributor:

If you are ordering in July AND August, you need to set up 2 distributors:

Distributor 'BP' for orders shipped on or before August 2
Distributor 'NE' for orders shipped on or after August 3.

See Set Up Menu (Add/Update Distributors) instructions the manual, and see Distributor Settings below for specific settings.

Because distributor settings will change we recommend that you wait until preparing your August order to install FoodLink 6.0 on your members’ home computers.

9. Import your pricelist

10. Start entering your member’s orders!
